Derry beauty wins ‘Face of Foyleside 2015’

Last Saturday, 26^th September, I wasn’t in Derry so I missed Foyleside Shopping Centre’s 20^th anniversary celebrations. As part of the celebrations foyleside ran a competition to find the ‘face of foyleside’. Twelve beauties took part in the final, walked three fashion shows, and all finalists were trained prior by Style Academy’s Director, Tracey Hall. A panel of fashion and beauty experts judged the competiton.

 The beautiful Rebecca McMonagle was crowned 'Face of Foyleside 2015' after a hectic day of modelling. Rebecca is nineteen years old, and is currently studying Chemical Engineering at Queen's University Belfast.

She had this to about her win:

 "I'm so thrilled to have won 'Face of Foyleside', I really can't believe it! It's such a privilege to be chosen as today's winner and to have the opportunity to model at Fashion Fest later this year. I can’t wait to take part!"

 As part of her prize, Rebecca has won a year's modelling contract with Style Academy Model Agency and the opportunity to model at Derry City & Strabane District Council's Fashion Fest on 14^th November.

 Foyleside Shopping Centre’s Centre Manager, Fergal Rafferty had this to say about the winner:

"Rebecca is a very worthy winner of our 'Face of Foyleside' competition and we're looking forward to her representing the Centre in this our 20th anniversary year.

Foyleside has become synonymous with fashion with retailers including Next, H&M, Monsoon, Debenhams, M&S and Dunnes all under one roof.

Therefore it is fitting that we mark our 20 years of trading with a competition that not only showcases our fashion offering, but also provides a platform for Rebecca to become the ‘Face of Foyleside’ and try her hand at modelling.”
